I do not subscribe to cable or satellite TV. Heck my DTV antenna stopped working months ago and I haven't bought a replacement yet (although I should, the HD quality here in the city is great). I agree that streaming is the future of television.

We need more set-top boxes that integrate with all the popular streaming services. The roku one is a great example as it combines amazon & netflix into an easy to use box that's plug and play. I personally use Vista media center to record tv (when my DTV antenna works), watch downloaded video, stream netflix, play music, etc. It also makes a sweet living room pc on my 52" Samsung 1080p.

Internet streams and downloads make entertainment empowering--it's about what you want to watch, not just what happens to be on at the time you turn on the tv. I can't imagine having it any other way. I love technology.
